Objectives
OpenPass4Climate : Empowering Climate Education and Recognition in a Learning Society
OpenPass4Climate's objective is to experimentally implement the European Open Badges Passport across partner universities, fostering shared ownership among stakeholders. Positioned as an open and horizontal initiative, it aspires not only to facilitate climate education but also to contribute to the construction of an open and learning society centred around the recognition of talents, skills, and aspirations in the domain of climate justice and planet protection.
To achieve these objectives, the OpenPass4Climate Consortium will work on multiple project results (PR):
Mapping Existing Eco-Pedagogical Activities (led by NOVA University)
Explore and catalog diverse eco-pedagogical activities, creating a dynamic catalog for engaging climate education.
Badge of Achievement (led by CSCI)
Create an Open Badge system aligned with PR1 and PR2 findings, providing the technical framework for recognizing learners' climate action achievements.
Impact Evaluation (led by UniLaSalle)
Measure the impact of OpenPass4Climate, evaluating its effectiveness in fostering climate education.
Strategic Recommendations (led by UNICA)
Provide strategic insights for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), aiding in their understanding of the initiative's benefits and addressing potential concerns. Offers practical tools for HEIs wishing to integrate OpenPass4Climate.
Commitments Under the Spotlight (led by Valladolid University)
Develop a robust assessment tool to scrutinize the nature and impact of learners' commitments.
Passport to Recognition (led by CSCI and UNICA)
Design a backpack/tailored passport, facilitating the award of Open Badges for Climate. This user-friendly system will be easy to use and display, adoptable by numerous universities.
Methodological Guidelines and Proposition (led by CSCI and UniLaSalle)
Propose methodologies for adapting the Open Badge system to secondary schools and lifelong learning contexts.
