PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Learn more about OpenPass4Climate
OpenPass4Climate aims to help HEIs recognize and acknowledge learners’ commitment to climate through open badges. Addressing escalating global concerns about climate change, particularly among citizens and students, the project empowers students to actively manage their learning and commitments related to climate action. Motivated by a growing wave of environmental consciousness, OpenPass4Climate harnesses the enthusiasm and dedication of the younger generation.
Distinguished by its innovative approach, the project seeks to establish the first cross-border open recognition system specifically dedicated to "climate justice and planet protection." Drawing inspiration from the principles of the Open Recognition Alliance, OpenPass4Climate envisions a unique platform that utilizes Open Digital Badges to encapsulate and recognize a diverse array of eco-pedagogical activities and commitments. Aligned with priorities in environmental sustainability, innovative learning and teaching practices, and the digital and green capabilities of the higher education sector, OpenPass4Climate strives to create a transformative impact.
The project forms a consortium of universities actively involved in integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate awareness into their academic frameworks. Additionally, it collaborates with two key associations, contributing crucial expertise to shape technical aspects, craft recommendation guidelines, and enhance impact and outreach. This engagement underscores a commitment to a holistic approach in addressing the challenges posed by climate change.
