The Open Badges Passport (PR4), developped within OpenPass4Climate project, provides an open, free-to-use digital environment for storing and sharing verified climate-related badges.
Built on the IMS Global Open Badge v2.1 standard and developed with Python 3.12 and the Django framework, the platform ensures security, interoperability, and long-term sustainability. It allows users to upload, manage, and showcase badges issued by multiple institutions, consolidating them into a single, verifiable digital profile.
The platform’s clean and intuitive interface was designed to make climate-related learning visible and shareable. Users can:
- Collect badges related to sustainability, environmental action, and climate awareness
- Manage visibility and privacy for each badge
- Share their verified achievements publicly or keep them private
- Link several email accounts to gather badges from diverse sources
This user-centred system not only supports lifelong learning and employability but also fosters a European community of environmentally engaged learners and professionals.
