Sustainable food production – the vegetable garden, horizontal and vertical

Through the use of this tool, students:

  • Understand the importance of cultivating their own vegetables.
  • Acquire knowledge of the key conditions required for successful vegetable cultivation.
  • Recognize the environmental benefits of growing vegetables locally, reducing the impact of long-distance transportation and the reliance on out-of-season, conventionally grown produce.
  • Develop collaborative skills by brainstorming and exploring various methods of vegetable cultivation in and around their homes.
