Pinar de Antequera is one of the main green spaces and recreational areas in the city of Valladolid. However, the intensive use of this “Natural Recreation Area” sometimes results in the accumulation of waste in certain seasons and parts of the pine forest. This waste either hasn’t been properly disposed of in municipal bins or has been scattered by the wind, impacting large areas of the forest and causing pollution that compromises its environmental quality. This volunteering initiative tackles waste management, promotes ecosystem conservation, fosters education and awareness, encourages collaboration, and empowers individuals to take action. By addressing these key issues, the activity contributes to mitigating climate change and enhancing the resilience of the local environment.
