Ecology

Students learn about community structure and delimitation of communities, methods for studying changes in communities along environmental gradients, which enhances their understanding of ecosystem functioning and responses to climate change. By acquiring the knowledge and tools for informed decision-making and sustainable practices, students are empowered to make meaningful contributions to combatting climate change. In this course the field practices help students bridge the gap between theory and real-world applications, allowing them to understand the implications of climate change on forests and develop strategies to mitigate its impacts. Through hands-on experiences in monitoring and assessing forest ecosystems, students gain practical skills that enable them to actively contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts.
